This has been an ongoing campaign for the past 3 years. It has taken a different turn this year with the introduction of the Anti-Witch Craft Bill that is yet to be assented to by the President of Ghana. The VOIICE community and movement calls on the President of Ghana to assent to the anti-witchcraft bill. #OLDAGEISNOTWITCHCRAFT

Things You Need To Know About the Bill

Criminalizes Witchcraft Accusations: It makes it illegal to accuse, label, or declare anyone as a witch, addressing the widespread human rights abuses caused by such accusations​

Protects Vulnerable Groups: The bill focuses on protecting vulnerable individuals, particularly women and the elderly, who are often the targets of these harmful accusations​

Dismantles Witch Camps: The legislation seeks to abolish the witch camps where many accused individuals are forced to live, often under harsh and inhumane conditions​

Encourages Social Reintegration: It promotes reintegration of those accused of witchcraft into their communities, aiming to restore their dignity and human rights​

Improves Ghana’s Human Rights Record: By passing this bill, Ghana aims to enhance its global standing on human rights issues, particularly in areas of gender equality and protection of the elderly​
